My forget-me-not dress: a Levi’s surprise

I recently went into Mark’s, one of my favourite Canadian retailers, looking for summer pants. After trying on several pairs and not finding any that I liked, I was about to leave when something entirely different caught my eye and sent me back to the fitting room. I still haven’t found the pants that I was looking for, but I do have a new dress that I love!

I didn’t even know that Levi’s made dresses! They call it the Paola Short Sleeve Crepe Midi Dress, but I think of it as my forget-me-not dress because the little clusters of blue flowers remind me of the tiny wildflowers that grew in abundance around my childhood home on the BC coast.

I don’t wear dresses often and it’s been a long time since I bought a new one, but when I slipped this one on, it fit perfectly and was incredibly comfortable. When I stepped out of the fitting room to model it for hubby, not only did he like it, but another shopper who just happened to be walking by, stopped to tell me how nice it looked on me. If I hadn’t already decided to buy it, that might have convinced me! It’s always nice to have another woman’s opinion!

When I wore the dress to a 50th anniversary celebration last weekend, I brought along the denim military jacket that I bought a couple of years ago in case the venue was air conditioned and I found it a bit chilly. As we dined, danced, and reconnected with a few people that we hadn’t seen for a long time, the jacket wasn’t needed, but I was happy to have it with me when we stepped out of the hall later in the evening and discovered that it was raining again! Our weather has been so unpredictable lately!

Thankfully the photos were taken earlier in the day.
